Hi.. Hi.. Hi.. I am back again to write about my travel journey. This time, I would like to share stories when I was travel to Kuala Lumpur. The trip happened in December 2015, so already 3 years ago. So, Let's go ..
The purpose of this trip was for pure holiday with my friends. I went there in 24 December 2015 alone from Indonesia in the morning. Flight from Jakarta to Kuala Lumpur about 2 hours until landing. My first impression about their airport was so big and crowded. This airport is very clean and many big branded stores in there. That was my first time come to another country alone, actually when I did this trip I only ever went aboard once, beside Kuala Lumpur. I arrived at KLIA 2, for your information Kuala Lumpur have two terminal, KLIA and KLIA2, usually low-cost carrier flight will landing in KLIA2 like air asia and lion air.
Because it was my first time to arrived at another country alone, I almost forgot the procedure, like immigration, take baggage etc. I just follow peoples who came out together with me. So I decided to ask airport employee, "where I should go?" sounds idiot of course. They told me I should go to immigration first and I need to follow direction. I arrived at immigration with full queue because I was late. Thankfully airport wifi was good and easy, while wait in there I could browsed and contacted my friends who wait me in arrival gate.
I bought a new SIM card for me in airport, honestly I didn't survey or check in google before what the best to use in here, I just follow my friends suggestion. For me, buy SIM card is a must if you want to travel to another country, because we don't know what happen in there, right? Of course, we can use this for internet connection, to use google maps, update your social media, order grab/uber taxi, call the driver or etc. If you don't want to use SIM card you can try to rent wifi portable or maybe rooming with your own local operator. FYI, I choose DIGI as my cellular operator, I forgot the price that I got, but when I googling the price around 30 MYR and you can get free 3 GB packet data. You can buy SIM card in airport after arrival gate, there's many booth provider adjacent.
After met my friends in gate, we continue my Hotel, I stayed at The Mesui Hotel located in Bukit Bintang area. Why I choose in Bukit Bintang ? because Bukit Bintang is famous as tourist centre. My hotel location was near with cafe and bar, so it's pretty noisy.
Before I talked about what's next after put my luggage in hotel room, I would talked about KLIA express. So me and my friends decided to go to Hotel used KLIA express from airport. KLIA express usually used if we want to go to or from airport. We can buy ticket online or go to ticket counter/self ticketing at level 2 gateway KLIA 2, after that you can go down 1 level to boarding platform. This route only able if your destination is KL Sentral, because it only stop in there and the price is 55 MYR one way. Beside KLIA express, it also have KLIA transit, this train will stop at 4 destination before end in KL Sentral. I heard if we used KLIA transit, we can save some money but longer times.
Journey to KL Sentral spent around 30 minutes if we use KLIA express. This train is really clean and pretty, even they prepare free wifi for passengers. FYI, KLIA express/KLIA transit have departure schedule, so better you check if you doesn't want to wait too long.

Finally, we arrived at KL Sentral station. The station is very big, even they have big stores in there. KL Sentral Station connected with a shopping mall named NU Sentral Shopping Centre. We did lunch before continue trip to Hotel, I don't remember the restaurant names, but we eat Korean Food.
After we filled out stomach, we continue to go to Hotel used Monorail KL. Actually if you come from KL Sentral and need to go to Bukit Bintang area, you can used some options. First, use Monorail KL which end in Titiwangsa, no need to transit or change train, in 5 stops you can arrived in Bukit Bintang station. Second, you can use LRT and stop at Pasar Seni, and move to MRT platform and stop at Bukit Bintang station. I used the first option because too lazy to move to other train, and finally arrived at Bukit Bintang station within 15 minutes, and I went to my hotel by walk in 7 minutes.
Arrived in Hotel room, I took a bath and rest for 2 hours. I can't explain too much for our room, becuase the hotel not impress me so much. It was pretty decent if you only use for sleep. It was too noisy because it located in cafe and bar area, especially in the night.
Next destination was pavilion mall, the most famous mall in KL. When this trip happened, it was Christmas Night, so it really crowded and many peoples came to celebrate Christmas in there. From hotel we walked within 10 minutes until arrived at pavilion. I also tried Turkish Ice cream for the first time.
I arrived at pavilion and really surprised because they welcomed us with big giant Christmas tree, and it was pretty.
I took photos for a while, and enjoyed the hustle. After that, I decided to go around inside mall and searched restaurant to eat dinner. I ate at Fish n Co, it was delicious! Actually that was my first time try eat in Fish n Co. We went around from stores to store, and lucky me every stores have Christmas sale, I think I bought a clothes from Forever 21 with cheap price. One thing that make you happy in Christmas holiday is you can found many things in sale.
At 10 PM, I saw many peoples came and stayed at lobby in front of big giant Christmas tree which I mentioned above. As I heard from mall announcement, they have event for us. Due to curiosity, I also joined the crowd, and it turn out they gave us some performance sang Christmas song. In the end, the gave us special effect, and it was fake snow, so pretty, unfortunately I didn't capture it in my camera, but it really amazing!
So that's all my first day in Kuala Lumpur, I will share another story in next blog post!
